Chaumet's A Journey Through Nature: When Nature Becomes a Feeling

Chaumet A Journey Through Nature, Verbena Bouquet, Chapter 1

Chaumet's new high jewellery collection, A Journey Through Nature, is a reminder of what sets the greatest houses apart.

This is the maison's first full collection under Olga Corsini, Creative Studio Director. Forty-six pieces arranged as a triptych, unveiled at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay. For nearly 250 years, Chaumet has been celebrated for its naturalist approach to jewellery. This time, Corsini asked a different question. Not what does nature look like. What does it make you feel?

Her answer unfolds across three chapters.

Chapter 1: Botanic Freshness

Tea Field. A 23.81 carat Colombian emerald takes centre stage, surrounded by 43.30 carats of diamonds set into sculptural cascades of white gold and platinum. The design evokes water flowing over terraced tea fields, transforming the idea of tea into a sensation rather than a literal interpretation. More than 1,400 hours of craftsmanship bring the piece to life. No camellia leaves. No literal tea. Just the impression of freshness, movement and green after rain.

Mint Leaf. Emerald-cut aquamarines are paired with cultured pearls and white gold, anchored by a 17.46 carat aquamarine. Inspired by summertime, reflections, water and the freshness of a swimming pool, the piece does not simply depict mint. It captures the sensation of it: cool, luminous and refreshing.

Verbena Bouquet. Yellow gold mesh, a signature Chaumet technique, creates a delicate structure enhanced by sapphires from Ceylon and Madagascar. Shifting between yellow, green and blue tones, the composition translates the freshness and lightness of verbena into colour, texture and movement.

Chapter 2: Spicy Sweetness

Vanilla Flower. A necklace centred around a 10.71 carat D-FL Type II-A diamond explores the sensuality of vanilla through volume, relief and asymmetry. More than 1,350 hours of craftsmanship transform the idea of sweetness into a sculptural jewel.

Cinnamon Bark and Star Anise continue this exploration, moving from the freshness of botanical forms into warmer, more enveloping sensations. Rather than illustrating nature, these pieces capture the memories and emotions associated with it.

Chapter 3: Aromatic Warmth

Coffee Aroma. A 12.09 carat blue sapphire takes centre stage. Rather than using the expected tones of coffee, Corsini chose blue to express the intensity and depth of its aroma. White gold and diamonds create abstract forms inspired by steam, while sculptural details evoke the transformation of coffee through water and movement. More than 1,200 hours of work turn an everyday ritual into a sensory experience.

Peppercorns. A white gold parure, including a tiara set with brilliant-cut diamonds, explores the elegance and restraint of pepper through refined Parisian design.

Saffron Flower. Yellow diamonds and grand feu enamel bring one of the collection's more figurative expressions to life, reflecting Chaumet's commitment to preserving exceptional decorative techniques and savoir-faire.

What strikes me most is how Corsini moves between abstraction and figuration without choosing sides. She combines contemporary technologies, including CAD modelling and femtosecond laser techniques, with traditional crafts such as miniature painting and glyptic art.

She understands that the most powerful nature is the one we carry inside us. The memory of a smell. The taste of something familiar. The freshness of a morning you cannot quite place.

Charles Leung, Chaumet's CEO, captured the philosophy beautifully: nature does not need to feel distant. It can exist in the everyday moments around us.

This is what separates the greatest houses from everyone else. It is not only about rendering the world more beautifully. It is about having the vision to capture what the world makes you feel, and the craftsmanship to transform that feeling into something you can wear.

More than a collection, A Journey Through Nature is a masterclass in sensory translation. ✨

At Adrisya, this resonates deeply. Every lab-grown diamond we work with begins as science, but it is finished by human hands, shaped by human intention, and worn as a human feeling. The greatest jewellery has never been about the material alone. It has always been about what it makes you feel, and the care taken to get you there.
